Risk Manager / Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

Setting: Long-Term Care Facility

Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site

Located in a scenic coastal community, our premier long-term care facility is dedicated to delivering high-quality, resident-centered care in a supportive, resort-style setting.

We are seeking a proactive Risk Manager / Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to lead clinical quality and risk mitigation. Direct experience investigating, managing, and submitting accident and incident reportables to the Department of Health (DOH) is strictly required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the investigation, documentation, and mandatory reporting of all facility accidents, incidents, and reportable events to the Department of Health (DOH).
  • Partner with the Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee daily nursing operations and maintain high clinical quality standards across the facility.
  • Conduct thorough root-cause analyses on clinical incidents and implement immediate corrective action plans.
  • Ensure continuous compliance with federal, state, and local DOH regulations and lead state survey readiness.
  • Educate and train nursing staff on safety protocols, risk reduction, and proper incident documentation.

Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Non-Negotiable Requirement: Must have documented, hands-on experience submitting accident and incident reportables directly to the Department of Health (DOH).
  • 3+ years of RN experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or sub-acute facility.
  • Prior experience as an ADON, Risk Manager, Quality Improvement Coordinator, or Clinical Supervisor in long-term care.
  • Deep understanding of DOH reporting mandates, state surveys, and risk containment.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Generous paid time off (PTO)
  • Comprehensive health coverage: medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Leadership opportunity: Platform to lead and mentor a high-performing clinical team
  • Staff appreciation events and employee rewards
  • Free on-site parking

Note: All offers are contingent upon passing standard background, drug, and credentialing screenings.

If you are a clinical leader with strong risk management expertise ready to make a high-visibility impact, we would love to connect with you!
